Pasir Ris Bus Interchange to Pasir Ris Sport Centre
Alex wanted to swim, so we headed to Pasir Ris Sport Centre one weekend, as it has a large swimming complex. When Alex said âswimâ, he meant splashing around in the part of the pool where his feet could still touch the floor. Alex canât swim yet. My husband has been trying to teach him, but I guess Alex needs more time to develop this skill. For a start, we are helping him learn how to float on his back. At least Alex isnât afraid of the water. After swimming, we headed to Pas

A Quiet Weekend at Changi Business Park Garden
Our weekend adventure began at Changi City Point, but not because we planned to go shopping. Alex, our little vehicle otaku, had his eyes on the shuttle bus. The shuttle bus made a loop around the nearby residential neighbourhoods before returning to the mall. It wasn't a long journey, but Alex enjoyed every minute of it. After the ride, we walked towards Changi Business Park. Like many office districts, it is quiet on weekends. Our destination was Changi Business Park Garden

Train Pod @ One North
We booked a one-night stay at Train Pod @ One North to reward Alex for reaching a major milestone. Since the place was designed around a train theme, we already knew he would be excited, but his reaction still exceeded our expectations. The boy was absolutely elated. đ©đ»âđ» Search the adventures by Singapore District: Humble Journey Index

Sentosa Night Walk
We planned an evening trip to Sentosa, hoping to see beautiful light decorations. With the Disney Cruise A Magical Island Adventure event taking place at Palawan Beach, we expected the island to be even more magical than usualâand it certainly didn't disappoint. The light displays were beautiful, and we found ourselves enjoying the sights at every turn. We skipped the Magical Island attraction itself, though. The queue was incredibly long, and none of us felt like spending ho

SimplyGo Adventure Quest Pop-up
A few days ago, we saw someone post a short video about the SimplyGo Adventure Quest Pop-up. Knowing our ten-year-old vehicle otaku was almost guaranteed to love it, we immediately added it to our weekend plans. Then the weekend came, and off we went. The pop-up occupied the Level 2 atrium of Bugis+ and was buzzing with visitors. Several people were queuing to buy merchandise, and we saw many families with young children darting between the displays. It was hard to keep track

Random HDB Exploration in Tampines
After leaving Tampines Eco Green, we continued our little adventure by exploring some nearby HDB blocks to indulge Alex's latest fascinationâwalking along HDB corridors. (I shared more about this unusual hobby in another blog post.) We simply picked the HDB blocks we came across while walking along the edge of the park. Sorry, I donât remember the name of the estate, but it seemed to be one of the newer ones. The estate had beautiful gardens with well-maintained community spa

Tampines Eco Green
Weâve been to Tampines Eco Green before, but every return visit has been worthwhile. A small piece of nature tucked away in a land of HDBs, it really is a hidden gem for those who love nature. Even the journey there is enjoyable. The route follows a wide park connector bordered by a variety of plants on one side and a large canal on the other. On rainy days, water rushes through the canal between clusters of wild vegetation. After particularly heavy rain, the canal transforms

Pasir Ris Park Mangrove Boardwalk and Downtown East Mall
Alex and I spent a relaxing day exploring Pasir Ris Park Mangrove Boardwalk, one of my favorite nature spots in Singapore. Surrounded by greenery, raised boardwalks, and mangrove trees with their fascinating roots, the place felt peaceful and refreshing despite the heat.

Our Tampines Hub
After strolling around in Tampines Central Park, Alex and I headed over to Our Tampines Hub (OTH), which was located just across the road. From my quick internet research, it says OTH is an integrated community building with a variety of services available for residents, and currently the largest of its kind. From our visit there, the description seems accurate. Thereâs a public swimming pool, a big sports stadiumâwhich I understand also functions as a town squareâa hawker ce

Tampines Central Park
One weekend, Alex and I visited Tampines Central Parkâa big, spacious park located right next to Our Tampines Hubâthe biggest community hub Iâve ever seen in Singapore, which was our next destination after the park. The walk to the park itself was nice, as we got to see interesting neighborhood HDB gardens along the way. These homeowners decorated their front gardens with their own quirks and stylesâwe saw one HDB with a front lawn full of toys, figurines, and other ornaments

IKEA Shuttle & IKEA Tampines
Alex and I continued our journey to the IKEA shuttle pickup point from Tampines Changkat Butterfly Garden. Along the way, we also explored Tampines Green Playground and Tampines Bike Maze. Eventually, we arrived at Tampines Mall, which was right next to Tampines MRT Station, and the shuttle pickup point was nearby. With all that walking, we were hungry and stopped for lunch. We could have eaten at IKEA too, but thereâs usually a long queue at lunchtime, and we were already qu

Tampines Green Playground and Tampines Bike Maze
Alex and I continued our journey from Tampines Changkat Butterfly Garden to the pickup point for the IKEA Tampines shuttle, which was located right next to Tampines One shopping mall. It was a long walk, but we enjoyed it. The walking path ran along the overhead train tracks. The stretch was nestled between HDB blocks and had tracks for both pedestrians and cyclists. Along the way, we saw a spot with a group of colorful swings and even a small patch of grass with some decorat

Tampines Changkat Butterfly Garden
I had heard of Tampines Changkat Butterfly Garden before and often visited the surrounding areas, but I hadnât really been there until this trip. The name brings up lovely images of butterflies fluttering everywhere in the garden, doesnât it? So, Alex and I went there on a weekend. We took a bus to the nearest bus stop and walked from there. Perhaps because I wasnât very familiar with the area, it took us a while to reach the garden. On the way, we passed through Tampines Rou

Changi Airport Terminal 4 Shuttle
đ„Watch a video about this trip on YouTube: đ©đ»âđ» Search the adventures by Singpore District: Humble Journeys Index Alex discovered the Terminal 4 shuttle from a short video I took at the airport. I was picking up my parents when I saw the big purple bus pass by and thought Alex would love it, so I filmed it with my phone. Sembawang Shuttle Bus & Sembawang Park Jetty
đ„Watch a video about this trip on YouTube: How it all started Alex came to me and said, âMummy, letâs go to Sembawang.â His father and I were mildly surprised that he even knew Sembawang. We live on the east side of Singapore, and like most families, we frequent attractions closer to home. Sembawang is quite a distance away from us. It had never occurred to us to visit that area, and we had never mentioned it to Alex. But there he was, asking to go. âWhy do you want to go th
