Bedok Reservoir Park
We went to Bedok Reservoir Park in the late afternoon. The weather was just right, and it was a pleasant walk.
Alex brought along his remote-controlled car. We didn’t mind at first, as we thought he would have plenty of space to play with it. But we regretted it as soon as we saw him chasing it downhill, his eyes glued to his toy car instead of the speeding bicycles ahead of him. So, we gently took it away and made sure he understood that it was for his own safety. He wasn’t pleased, but he didn’t complain too much.
That was probably because he still had plenty of other things to entertain him.
As we walked along the reservoir, we first came across the PAssion Wave @ Bedok Reservoir building, a water sports centre where people can take part in activities such as kayaking and dragon boating. Near the building was a play area with several musical instruments, such as xylophones and drums, as well as a few trampolines. Alex spent some time playing there.
We also visited the Therapeutic Garden, a small area tucked away in one section of the park. The garden has fragrant plants and herbs, as well as a fitness corner. The sign said that the garden was designed to promote relaxation and well-being.
For dinner, we went to one of the restaurants at HomeTeamNS located along the reservoir. The building had several small models of police and SCDF vehicles, and of course, Alex loved them.
By the time we finished dinner, the sun was setting, and the reservoir looked even more tranquil. We walked to the floating deck and enjoyed the view of the reservoir against a sky slowly settling into dusk.
It was a peaceful way to end our trip.
