Sengkang Riverside Park

After exploring Sengkang Sculpture Park, we continued our adventure at Sengkang Riverside Park. We did very little research beforehand and arrived with almost no expectations. All we really knew about the park was that there would be a river somewhere nearby.

So, we were pleasantly surprised by the park’s wetland landscape. There was a pond, with turtles and fish, sitting among patches of wild vegetation. We wandered around the area and took plenty of photos. At one point, we spotted a monitor lizard digging around in a grassy patch. There were signs warning about otters, although we didn’t spot any during our visit. The park had many signboards explaining how visitors should behave around local wildlife.

The best part of the visit was walking across the beautiful Sengkang Riverside Bridge, which spans the Punggol River. The panoramic views of the river and the open sky from the bridge were beautiful. My husband, who loves anything to do with lakes, beaches, and rivers, was thrilled to have discovered this bridge. He even jokingly suggested that we should move to Sengkang, but then I remembered he had said the same thing when we visited Sembawang Jetty. Every scenic waterfront location makes him want to move.

I was so hungry from all the walking that the dinner I had that day was one of the yummiest meals I’d had in a long time. I had initially planned to film our food as well, but once it arrived, I forgot all about it. Maybe next time.
