Pasir Ris Town Park
On the day we visited Pasir Ris Town Park, there was an event being held in celebration of Singapore’s National Day. We didn’t know about it beforehand, so it was a pleasant surprise.
We typically wouldn’t attend such events, as neither my husband nor I are very good with crowds, but we had always been curious. Now that we had unexpectedly stumbled upon one, we decided to look around. There was a live show, some games and activities for kids, and Alex enjoyed catching toy fish and sea creatures. But we didn’t stick around for too long and soon left for the quieter part of the park.
We walked around the fishing pond, stopping here and there whenever we saw something interesting. We walked slowly and took our time to take in the sights and simply be present in the moment.
After walking for a while, Alex asked if he could explore the HDB blocks around the park, and we agreed. We headed into the Pasir Ris HDB estate and strolled along the corridors and community spaces.
Alex loves taking HDB lifts, and because Pasir Ris HDB is an older estate, he was super thrilled to find lifts with older designs. Lately, Alex hasn’t been as interested in interior designs as before. His newfound interest is locating “Lift E&I Panel” and the “Lift Telemonitoring System” around HDB blocks. I have no idea what these panels do, and I only know that they have something to do with the lifts.
When he was finished looking at those panels (just at the panel doors because these panels are locked), we headed back home through Pasir Ris Town Park. We didn’t leave immediately, though. All of us sat near the pond for a while, enjoying the serene view in the evening before finally heading home.
Another weekend well spent.
