West Coast Park

We went to West Coast Park by taxi because it was quite far from where we live. Even the taxi driver asked why we didn’t go to East Coast Park instead.

Well, the fact that West Coast Park was far away was exactly why we wanted to visit it first. If we kept putting it off, we knew we would become too lazy to make the trip. In fact, if it weren’t for Alex, we would probably be too tired to even leave the district we live in.

We may let out a few introverted groans before going anywhere, but once we arrive, we are always glad that we made the effort. Our trip to West Coast Park was no different.

When we arrived, we had run into yet another event unexpectedly, so we checked it out for a little while before continuing our walk. It is always interesting when we stumble across something we didn’t know about beforehand. It adds an unexpected little stop to our original plan.

After that, we headed toward the beach. Unfortunately, most of it had been closed off in preparation for a fireworks display. The beach wasn’t completely closed. We found an area that was still open. To be honest, it wasn’t the cleanest beach we had visited. Still, we enjoyed spending some time there.

Next, we made our way to the Marsh Garden. By then, we had already been walking for some time, and exploring the garden made us even hungrier.

So, we headed to NEWest, which had quite a few restaurants. Many of them didn’t appear to be the usual chain restaurants, and we were tempted to try several places. After looking around, we eventually chose a small Myanmar restaurant.

I had been wanting to try its platter of assorted fritters, so that settled the matter. The fritters were freshly fried and served with a spicy and tangy tamarind dipping sauce. We also ordered noodle salads and fried rice to go with them.

After all that walking, the food was especially satisfying. We finished dinner with our bellies almost exploding and had no energy left for anything else.

So, we headed home—full, tired, and glad that we had overcome our introverted groans once again.

Another weekend well spent.
