Langsuyar are vampiric, reanimated corpses from Malay folklore, sharing traits with the more infamous pontianak (explored in Book 3). Langsuyar are described as beautiful women dressed in green robes, with long black hair cascading down to their ankles, and possessing fingernails that are sometimes longer than their fingers.
They are shapeshifters, often transforming into owls to stalk people discreetly at night. In their human form, they can fly by extending their arms and opening and closing their palms.
