A dark blob in a large glass jar

Ma ga, also known as “chicken demons” or “chicken ghosts,” are demons that some people willingly invite into their homes to get supernatural protection. Each ma ga appears as a formless lump of gooey flesh, roughly the size of a chicken. Typically, it is kept in a large pot placed on an altar in a dark, quiet corner of the house. Ma ga are called chicken demons because they love devouring chickens. To keep a ma ga at home, its keeper must feed it either chicken blood or a whole chicken once a month.
