Kibaan are one of the fairy-like creatures in Filipino folklore. These small humanoids stand no taller than a human toddler. They are said to have long, wavy hair that reaches their backward-facing feet. Their most prominent feature is their gold teeth, which shine brightly enough to serve as a light source when they travel at night.
Kibaan make their homes in trees and bushes and are especially fond of places that attract fireflies at night. Trees inhabited by kibaan have clear surroundings, free from weeds and trash, as these creatures like to keep their dwellings and nearby areas clean. These trees also give off a spicy, delicious aroma at dusk, as that is when kibaan prepare their meals. These creatures love to cook and are fond of boiled and roasted yams.
