Kuman thong (Thailand)

Like koan kroach of Cambodia, kuman thong of Thai folklore are mummified human fetuses kept as good-luck amulets. The difference between the two is that a koan kroach cannot change hands, as its loyalty is linked to the blood tie with their father, who is also the amulet’s creator. In contrast, kuman thong can be adopted by different people if the proper transition rituals are performed. Kuman thong are also known as “golden boys” because their mummified bodies are covered in gold flakes. The females are called kuman nee.
