An illustration of Keukegen, a hairy, dog-like yokai with large adorable eyes

Keukegen are hairy yokai that resemble small, fluffy dogs. These yokai are the manifestations of the accumulated dirt, mold and dust from unsanitary or neglected households and buildings. They love dark, damp places with poor air circulation. Filthy houses attract these yokai and sighting them at home means household members will soon fall ill as keukegen bring disease and misfortune.
